The 2024 Australian Interschool Championships are set to be hosted at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (ALEC), Tamworth, New South Wales, 19-23 September 2024.

This event is for anyone, attracting more than 2,000 school-based competitors, family, friends and supporters from around the country.

The event is continuing to grow each year and a major focus for young equestrians.  It is the largest equestrian grassroots program delivered nationally in Australia.

Interschool comprises a competition and educational pathway for young athletes to participate in equestrian sport during their primary and secondary school years.  If you are a young rider, aged between 5-18 years of age, attending school, looking to develop your equestrian skills, character, sportsmanship and teamwork, then Interschool is for you.

There are 5 types of competition offered:

  • Dressage
  • Jumping
  • Eventing
  • Show Horse
  • Combined Training

As per the 2024 Interschool NT Selection Policy, riders must first qualify to be eligible for selection on the NT Team.  The Policy sets out the minimum requirements to be achieved in order to qualify for selection.

Interschool NT Subcommittee

Equestrian Northern Territory is passionate about the development of horse sports from the participation level to the high-performance level.  A dedicated subcommittee with vast experience and knowledge in this area is formed to guide riders and family through the qualification process.  The members are the subcommittee are:

Qualification

To be considered for selection on the NT Team you must:

  • Be a current Equestrian Northern Territory member
  • Be aged between 5-18 years of age
  • Be attending school
  • Complete the NT Squad Application Form
  • Meet the Northern Territory Interschool Selection Policy requirements within the qualifying period

Please note final team selection does not just depend on completing requirements.  The final selection will be made in accordance with the Policy.

Qualification Period

The qualifying period for the 2024 Team is from 01/04/2023 to 31/07/2024.  In order to be considered for selection the minimum standard must be achieved during the qualifying period.

Qualification Results Sheets

At the end of the qualifying period squad members will be requried to submit their competition results to the board in order for them to be considered for selection.  Results sheets for Jumping, Dressage and Show Horse will be provided in the comming months.
